# MBX 2D

Hi,

I have the iMX31 and I need to wrtie 8bpp application, taht is supporetd by the MBX on 2D mode only. I can I use this mode?

Yes, you are right. MBXLite hardware supports 3:3:2 frame buffer format on 2D mode only. 
  

I do not know whether this is accessible through the WinCE API on iMX31. Possibly not. You might need to ask to your Freescale distributor.

Thanks for the answer. I use the Linux BSP, do you know if I can activate the 2D mode via the Linux BSP API?
