For quick reference, here is a list of end user devices featuring PowerVR graphics acceleration which allow anyone to develop and run native OpenGL ES 1.x applications. (This is only a list of the open platforms, there are of course many more devices equipped with PowerVR graphics cores).
The list will be updated as soon as more devices become available (and there are some great devices to come ). We’ll also provide extended information on each device soon!

any idea if my device is/will be supported? (it’s a nokia n800 internet tablet, based on omap2420, running linux) is there a way to add a support for it other than nagging nokia?KotCzarny2008-03-19 17:51:20
At this point it is hard for us to comment in great detail on this issue. This is entirely Nokia’s call whether or not or when to support this device. So keep looking out for it.
The iPhone uses a PowerVR MBX Lite.

How is the licensing carried out. Have Ti already paid some fee to include the PowerVR MBX in the OMAP 2420 or do the end customers have to pay some license fee? Or is it that the end customer has to write the drivers, or pay Imag Tech to do that for them?
Just interested to know how these things work.
That is first and foremost confidential and secondly beyond what a technical forum for developing applications is about.
If you want to create your own chip with our IP cores included, we can talk a licensing model that will suit your needs.

Fair enough. My interest is also with the Nokia internet tablets, that was the reason for my question.
Thanks for the information. Xmas
That list is quite old now. For a more up to date (but unofficial) list you can have a look at the POWERVR wikipedia entry.
If you try to run an OpenGL application with scratchbox then it will
most likely work. This is because it uses the native operating system
OpenGL libraries to execute. However, if you try and run it on the
device it will not work as it only has OpenGL ES libraries.
