Hello,

Does the precompiled library support transcoding to ASTC ?

In the docs for the pvrtextool CLI I saw “Note: PVRTexTool requires ASTC Evaluation Codec (astcenc) to be in your path to be able to compress to ASTC formats.”, so I’m curious if this applies to the precompiled lib as well.

Hi Denis,

We chose not to build ARM’s ASTC compressor into our tools as carrying the licence would have made made our SDK licence more restrictive.

That’s correct. For ASTC compression to work in any version of TexTool (library, CLI or GUI) ARM’s ASTC compressor must be in your PATH.
