PVRTune problem

pvrtune

#1

Dear Imagination.

I’d like to use PVRTune for PowerVR GPU performance analysis in some system.
Though I use PVRPerfServer on my System & PVRTune on Windows PC,
PVRTune can’t get information from my system.

Could you give me some advice ?
I found that version mismatch between those tools( PVRTune showed the message).
If this is the reason, How do I resolve this issue?
My PVRPerfServer is v14.142, but the latest PVRTune is v14.144

Best Regards.

Hi,

you need to use a matching PVRTune and PVRPerfserver for best results. Please use both from our latest release from here: https://community.imgtec.com/developers/powervr/graphics-sdk/

Dear Marton.

Thank you for your quick reply.
I also think that your answer is the best results.
But it may be difficult to use the latest PVRTune because my system uses dedicated OS and may not update PVRPerfserver.

I saw the URL you suggested.
I will look into my system again and, if needed, request legacy SDK.

Best Regards.

Dear Marton.

I can use PVRTune by matching versions between PC & Platform. Thank you very much.

I have a question about PVRTune. What does “Words/sec” mean in GPU memory read/write ?
1Word means 32bit access ? or depend on platform ?

Best Regards.

Hi,

“words” is the width of the memory bus, 16 or 32 bytes depending on the exact GPU. You should be able to read about it in the counter’s description.

Marton
