texture plugin 3ds max 2013 prob

Dear Team 


The texture plugin doesnt work wih the latest 3ds max 2013 service pack 2.
the texture are not displayd in the material editor as well.

About the Pod exporter , i confirm that by my side it s working very well.

Do you know when the next release will happend ?

Can I ask whether you’re using 32-bit or 64-bit? Were there any error messages when you launched? I’ll investigate this locally as well, but if you could supply this information it would be useful to target my investigation.

it s the 64 bit, there is no error message displayed , the color is just randomly red or blue by side.

It s not a big bug ,it s just surprising , we can live with it :wink:

Hi David,

When you say “by the side” do you mean the side of the texture gets coloured wrongly? Is this when loading a pvr or saving a render out? Could you send a screenshot to DevTech@imgtec.com? At least it doesn’t sound too serious, still want to fix it though :slight_smile:

Hi David,

I had a look and it’s an issue to do with the change from ASCII to UTF-16 within 3DSMax. Essentially the plug-in was trying to load a file with an 8-bit string, but the string was actually 16-bit. In other words, it was trying to load a nonsense filename :slight_smile: Not sure why it was even attempting to load an image, it should have thrown an error as no image was actually loaded…

Anyway, it’s a simple fix, so I’ll do some testing and it should make it into the next SDK update.

that was fast, is it possible to convert all  texture assigned in the material editor to pvr as well ? that will be an incredible plugin :)) .

PVR exporting is something we’re looking into for a future release, but there are no firm plans yet.
